The buzz is that Nathan Lane is going to be doing Waiting for Godot on Broadway. Which is cool and all–I still count his performance in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum as one of the funnier things I’ve seen on a Broadway stage, and Godot calls for some funny performers. Still, I’m more excited about Bill Irwin, who is criminally underrated as a stage performer. He did Scapin a bunch of years back, and it was insanely awesome.
This could be real good. Who’s going to get me in to see it?
(PS–Shameless self-promotion week has yet to begin in earnest. I’ll kick it off tomorrow by telling you where I’ll be this weekend.)
